Summer Vacation

Sorry these pictures are in reverse order. Backyard camping! Little A and Sweet Pea sleep outside by themselves!

Mission Accomplished!

Almost!

Some of the kids had been begging me to let them sleep outside, so I finally let them. Here Mr. E is setting up the tent all by himself! He did a great job. The drawback to backyard camping is the kids wake up much earlier than if they were sleeping in their beds!

School's out and with it comes the dilemma of what to do all day long?!!! There really is a love/hate relationship with summer vacation. Love sleeping in. How did I ever get up at 5:25am every morning? I'm having a hard time rolling out of bed at 7-8am. Love no homework. When was there time? Hate the constant "I'm bored! There's nothing to do." (I have plenty of suggestions for them they just don't like them.) So we're trying to find things to do that don't cost a lot of money. It's expensive to take 5 kids anywhere. We usually do a lot of swimming by now but did I mention the weather? It's cool and cloudy, oh, and let me just make one thing clear, I'm not complaining, I love it. But it's too cool to go swimming. (Many of our friends have pools and are kind enough of let us use them.) We're still waiting for the warm weather to come so we can enjoy some days by the pool. Until then, here's a couple of things we'll be doing. It is free movie time. Our local UA theater has free movies on Tuesday and Wednesday. We will start doing that this week. We had our own movie marathon. We decided to catch up on the Harry Potter movies so we're ready when the new one comes out next month. Finally, on Mondays, Hubby plans a new outing each week that he calls Areadog Adventures. (FYI Areadog is a word he came up with using all our initials.) So each week they do something different. Last week it was driving to Mt. Vaca, the highest point in Solano County. Tomorrow, they go fishing. Can't wait to see what he has planned for next week.
