Today Liv and I did a little shopping. And when I say a little, I mean it. Liv is not your typical teenager that loves to shop. In fact, I have to drag her to the stores and force her to look at things. She just doesn't enjoy it. I managed to get her into one store and when I managed to find a few cute things, I think she even smiled. I don't blame her, not liking to shop I mean. I can never find clothes to fit me in all the right places. It's very frustrating as I know it's a sensitive subject to many. I'm a bit vertically challenged myself so I do understand, however, I don't understand when I shop in the Petite department and all I find are sizes 10 and above. Really is size 16 petite? But if I go into the Juniors department, even if I find my size I can't fit a my thigh through the leg hole. The pants are so stinkin' skinny these days! Which is fine for my size 0 daughter but not for someone with hips. Which brings me to another interesting phenomenon I saw today. A size 11 skinny jeans. That seems a little contradictory to me.
I hate shopping!

More Family Fun
You may have seen a show called Minute to Win it. I haven't, however, we played these games at Girl's Camp and my older kids played them at Youth Conference this year. Here are some pictures of our family attempting to play a few of the games. Just like the name says you're suppose to do these games in under a minute. Very fun if you need some boredom busters for the kids or just games to play as a family. It was a big hit.
"Face the Cookie" The object of this game is to start with an Oreo on your forehead and try to wiggle it down into your mouth by using your facial muscles. Very funny and very crumby.
Moving on Up Start with 36 cups of the red cups and one blue cup, ( I was too cheap to buy two different colors so we just marked the rim of one of the cups) Object: Start with the blue cup at the bottom of the stack. Pull cups from the top taking one cup off at a time and put on the bottom of the stack alternating hands. When blue cup is back on the bottom your done.
"Noodling Around" For this game you need a piece of spaghetti and 6 penne pasta. Object: try to get all the penne pasta on the spaghetti noodle using only your mouth.

First Day of School!
Yes, we've started school already. (Well two of them have) Here are my babies on their first day. Sweet Pea is in 4th this year and Little A is in 1st. Know what that means? He's in school full time now! No more half-day kindergarten. Yeah!!! Looking forward to that because I will still be home schooling Mr. E and last year was difficult because when Little A came home Mr. E thought he was done school too, and it was too hard for him to focus. Hoping it will be better for Mr. E with no distractions.
My little cuties all ready for their first day!!!

July
The last few weeks have flown by. After 3 weeks we have our family together again. The kids had a great time at "Aunt A's summer camp" They did lots of fun things we included but is not limited to, Hiking, swimming and lessons for Little A, sewing, fireworks, museums, Colonial Days, shopping, movies, golfing. Because I wasn't there I don't have pictures to post. However, here are pictures of the blankets that Sweet Pea and Mr. E made.
Funny thing is Mr. E didn't even realize that he picked out his Papa's Alma mater, he just liked the colors!
Sweet Pea had a blanket that her Aunt A made when she was little. It had been so loved to death that Sweet Pea asked if they could make a new one!
Young Women Camp: What a fun time we had. The food was delicious, we made cute crafts, had fun activities and spiritual evenings. Hubby's favorite part was riding the quad. If we had the property to ride it he'd love to have one.
Soda top bracelets! So cute! Personal Progress journals
This photo is hard to see but this is the locket we gave out to all the girls. There were 5 charms. The first charm a red ruby came with the locket which represented the scripture in Proverbs 31:10-31 "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." The four other charms were earned by spending a hour at each of the classes that were offered. A ring for Family Search. A bee for humanitarian, a bible for Personal Progress and a green stone for Certification. Needless to say, it was a big hit with the girls.
Believe it or not school starts for us on Monday (for Sweet Pea and Little A). So last Monday we went down to the Beach. We got there early because hubby likes to get there while the tide is still low so we can see all the critters in the tide pools. We saw some really cool things.
