Let me explain.... My daughter Liv goes to our Church's Girl's Camp during the summer and this year Hubby and I were both asked to go. ( I went last year) However, that leaves no one to watch the little squids. So I came up with a remarkable plan. I'll have my sister watch them! Since they were going to be hanging out in Utah I got G-man signed up for EFY (especially for Youth, A youth program sponsored by BYU) and made plans for my Mom to come out to visit and help out my sister. So our family drove to Utah last Monday visited for a few days, left 4 out of 5 kids at my sister's and drove home on Friday. (our 18th wedding Anniversary, wow! how did that happen?)
Now back at home, there are just three of us for a week and I've noticed a few strange phenomenons happening around here.
- It's strangely quiet around here.
- I went shopping the day after we came home, 6 days later, there's still food in the house.
- I run the dishwasher every other day.
- I've only done laundry once.
- My house is still not clean.
This is what my living room looks like. Pretty much clutter everywhere. So until camp is over, I'm resigned to a messy house. (But then the kids come home, who am I fooling?)
I did take a break on Wednesday to finally take Liv to enjoy her birthday present. Back in April we got her tickets to see Wicked in San Francisco. Even the second time I can honestly say, it was incredible! (Hence, the Wicked music)
We went with our good friends.
We took BART into the city. Definitely recommend that!!
Riding BART.
Of course, seeing Wicked was the highlight but I thought the girls would enjoy being in the city. I was wrong. They walked around with their mouths covered 'cause they couldn't stand the smells. They didn't even want to wait for autographs, they just wanted to get out of the city. Funny.
Ironically, we saw some friends that used to lived in our neighborhood but moved out of state. They were also going to see Wicked. They kindly took our picture.
Well, that about wraps up our eventful couple of weeks. I'll write again when I get back from camp.
