Cookie time

Girl Scout cookies that is. Did you get your boxes?

This time of year always creeps up on me and I forget that it's cookie time. In fact, for many years I'd be completely oblivious to it until those cute little girls would start showing up in front of my local grocery store. But by then, I could just never bring myself to buy them... there...in front of a grocery store, it just made me feel so..... desperate. Besides, I'd have to hide them when I got home. I remember one time on my way to the store, I told myself, OK, you can buy one box. Well, wouldn't you know they weren't there! I was so dissappointed! What do I do now? Do I go to another store? I searched the parking lot for anybody wearing a green vest. Nothing. Should I wait? No luck. So I just went in and did my shopping trying to push the invading thoughts of Girl Scout cookies out of my mind. Well, on my way out, that's when I saw them. Right there parked in front, was a suburban unloading Girl Scout cookies! I was almost delirious with excitement. But then decided I wasn't going to stand there and wait for them to finish setting up. It's one thing to casually walk by and buy a box but it borders stalking if you stand there watching and waiting with your hand on your purse ready to whip out your wallet. Maybe I should have offered to help them unpack?! I think maybe they should put a warning label on the boxes. Warning! Cookies may make an otherwise rational woman temporarily, emotionally unstable.

So now I have my own supplier and she delivers right to my door! Now that's more like it.

Here's a little tidbit for you, did you know Ted Nugent has a song about Girl Scout cookies?

My VT is her daughter's brownie, leader, so she came with order form all ready for me. I think I bought four boxes!? Although I passed on the samoas, since I'm the only one who eats them and I didn't want to have an entire box at my beck & call.

Can't wait!

My VT is a brownie troop leader, so I ordered mine a few weeks ago, but totaly forgot. Now I have something to look forward to!

Fine, I'll do the half. I can't find any on a Sat, so I may have to set my own goal. I don't know if I can make May 2. My most recent high mileage is 6 miles, so I don't know if 8 eight weeks is enough. So maybe the end of May?

I'll figure out a date and put it on my blog for all to see. Thanks for the push.
